Celebrate the day of Epiphany with our famous “Galette des Rois”!

 

 

 

 

In memory of the arrival of the tree Kings to Bethlehem. On the twelfth night, Gaspard, Balthazar and Melchior payed their tribute to the new born Jesus, welcoming him with gifts from their countries.

Starting with the day of the Epiphany (6th January) and celebrating through the month of January.

 

Enjoy our famous “Galette des Rois” puff paste cake, filled with delicious almond cream and ... not to forget ! - your hidden porcelain “fève”

 

Who will be the King of the day, who will be the Queen? Who will wear the crown?

Its an old family ritual. Usually the youngest of the family hides under the table, deciding which slice of the galette goes to whom. The family member who finds the figure in his serving, will be the King, or Queen of the day and wear the golden crown. Now its their turn to select their royal partner, by throwing the figure in his or her glass. Usually an extra slice will be kept. The “slice of the poor” - the first visitor to your home will have the chance to enjoy this special piece.

The “Galette des Rois” is available from 6th January in our retail store.
